Love the show. I found that Affinity does NOT provide a way to make text grow gradually bolder using variable fonts, except to do it one character at a time.

Loved the show, as always. There is nary an episode goes by where I don’t learn something useful, and those that don’t actually touch on apps and services I use are still enormous fun. If you haven’t subscribed, you are missing out - seriously missing out!

It’s always a pleasure when macbites airs - you have a fantastic way of getting to the point in such a way that we are being educated almost by osmosis lol - when I’m using affinity I have you in my head - do it the right way - future you will thank current you, so thank you so very much 👀🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼

Thanks for your insightful videos Elaine. A question: I currently have version 1 of the three Affinaty's products. Photo I use as a hobby and with Publisher I make a quarterly newsletter. Is it worthwhile to upgrade to version 2? If so, it is now €135, so I will probably wait for a discount.

I have successfully UNLINKED ASSETS (windows based system) by duplicating the asset category (the duplicate is not linked) then deleting the original linked assets category. You also retain the option to Link the newly created duplicate.

👍 Excellent 3-way compare of text grabbing apps… But I'll continue to use the OCR feature of Shottr - the amazingly powerful screenshot app, that has some geeky extras. ($8 donationware)

Another great tutorial on Affinity Publisher. Helping me to understand document palettes and the like! And the demo in baseline grids was welcome to confirm what I'd used for years in Serif's PagePlus was the best way to handle things. Looking forward to more dives into the Affinity suite.
